In this article, I’ll be discussing my insider experience working at the Cherokee Ranch and Castle. Are you considering booking your wedding here or just shopping around for your dream location? If you answered yes, then read this blog to get insight about this venue from someone that has first-hand experience shooting weddings at the Cherokee Ranch and Castle!
About
Cherokee Castle is a unique example of a 15th century castle near the Colorado foothills. The beauty of this structure was created out of locally sourced rhyolite and petrified wood. It is home to famous artwork, impressive antiques, and historical treasures. Cherokee Ranch and Castle is well known for hosting a variety of weddings and events. The large property of Cherokee Ranch carries the authentic feel of the wild west as it overlooks expansive habitats for Colorado wildlife, spacious areas for cattle to roam, with mountain views of the FrontRange extending across the horizon.
Location
Cherokee Ranch and Castle is located 29 miles south of Downtown Denver and is easily accessible from surrounding areas such as Lone Tree, Castle Rock, Monument, Centennial, Ken Caryl, Aurora, Colorado Springs, Franktown, Highlands Ranch, and Littleton. Cherokee Ranch and Castle is a perfect destination for anyone wanting to be immersed in the western wedding experience.
History
Cherokee Ranch & Castle includes land that originally belonged to two separate homesteads in the late 1890s: the Flower Homestead and the Blunt Homestead. The Johnson Family moved from the East and purchased the Flower Homestead in 1924 and built the 1450s Scottish-style Castle. They sold the property to Tweet Kimball in 1954. Tweet purchased adjacent land that had been the Blunt Homestead and renamed both pieces of land Cherokee Ranch, which today includes 3,400 acres of natural beauty and wildlife.
Pricing and Guest Capacity
Cherokee Ranch and Castle prices range from $4,600-$6,500 (venue only). Contact the venue for detailed pricing.
The maximum capacity inside the Castle is 75 guests. During certain months of the year, our Veranda Tent is available and can accomodate up to 150 guests. The Castle is available January through December, and the Veranda Tent is available May through September (October, weather permitting).
