About
The Denver Colorado Temple is the 40th dedicated temple operation. Located south of Denver in a well-kept residential neighborhood in Centennial, this structure is a popular attraction for Mormon weddings. The striking white architecture and beautiful grounds are some of the key features of this amazing location.
Location
The Denver Colorado Temple is located in Centennial, Colorado. Perfect for those who want to celebrate their day in a beautiful, bright setting. This Temple is close to all the conveniences in town. Ideally located within 23 miles south of downtown Denver, there are a wide variety of options for finding a reception area. The Denver Colorado Temple is an easy drive from nearby areas such as Lakewood, Auora, Highlands Ranch, Denver Tech Center, Morrison, Parker, Castle Pines, Littleton and surrounding areas. It is about a 40 minute drive from the Denver International Airport, which makes it easily accessible to those flying in from out of state.
History
The Denver Colorado Temple was the first Mormon temple built in Colorado. Denver-area Mormons started a temple fund many years before the Denver Colorado Temple was announced. The LDS Church announced plans to construct a Mormon Temple in Colorado in 1982. The temple was designed with hand-carved woodwork, hand-painted designs, and large stained glass windows. Many Latter-Day Saints contributed what they could and the Temple was completed in 1986.
Features
The Denver Colorado Temple create a lovely backdrop for family photos, bridal party shots, and couples’ portraits. One of the main features of this incredible location is the water fountain, which is located directly in front of the towering Temple. Adorning the top of this magnificent structure is a gold-leafed stature of the angel Moroni.
Pavillion
I walked with my couple down a path that circles the Temple and was able to capture a wide variety of poses and angles, incorporating the different features the grounds have to offer. Directly behind the Temple, is a lovely pavilion with hanging flower baskets.
