Wedding Photography at Craftwood Peak by Wedgewood Weddings
As a Colorado wedding photographer, I have had the honor of shooting Chocho and Travis’ special day at Craftwood Peak by Wedgewood Weddings. This warm November day was made complete by all that Craftwood Peak had to offer. In this blog, you’ll get to learn a little bit about this historic venue and see wedding photos from this memorable day.
About Craftwood Peak by Wedgewood Weddings
Craftwood Peak is a gorgeous venue surrounded by the natural beauty of Manitou Springs, Colorado. Some of my favorite features were the incredible views of Pikes Peak, curving red rock features, and charming feel of the venue. I really loved the many chandeliers in the dining area, outdoor landscaping, and whimsical fairytale feel of the bride and groom suites. The venue has an inviting, rustic atmosphere which draws you in and provides an intimate mountain escape.
Wedding Details
The gorgeous unique flowers were provided by Dawn’s Creations, a local florist here in Colorado. Also, the bride and groom’s wedding rings were provided by a local jewelry located in Colorado Springs called Luisa Graff Jewlers. Both of these vendors creations made for some stunning wedding detail shots.
Arriving at the Wedding Venue
Chocho and Travis had just arrived after having their ceremony at a nearby Catholic church. The first thing they did upon arrival was sign their marriage license in the bridal suite. This is a separate structure which gives so much privacy and charm to the getting ready moments. This lovely pine-paneled bridal cottage is a perfect space to relax or prep for some upcoming wedding moments. Couples can use this area as a private get-ready area, complete with makeup stations. I loved the old stone fireplace, furnishings, and decorations complete this rustic elegant cottage. Under a sparkling with a chandelier, Chocho and Travis popped some champagne to celebrate the moment!

I loved Chocho’s flowing dress that fit her perfectly! It made for some very beautiful shots of her in the cottage. She got it from a wedding vendor in Colorado Springs called Impressed by the Dress.
Outdoor Ceremony Courtyard
After sealing the deal, Chocho and Travis headed to the outdoor garden path which winds down to an old stonework gate built in 1910. This area is known as the scenic gardens which fill with wildflowers during the warmer months and, while we were in November, we could still appreciate the beauty of the exception views of Pikes peak from this area. We captured photos with family and throwing flower petals into the air, which was a lot of fun for me to shoot! The couple enjoyed capturing photos near the secluded ceremony courtyard with rich stone paving and an oversized wood gazebo. The relaxing sounds from the decorative waterfall created a beautiful slice of Rocky Mountain paradise.
Wedding Photos with Red Rocks and Pikes Peak
Just look at these stunning mountain views at this location! I absolutely love this vantage point where Pikes Peak is clearly visible, combined with the incredible organic rock formations. As the light was fading, I loved that my couple was adventurous enough to do a little maneuvering up the rocky hill to get these stunning views in the backdrop of their wedding photos!
Back to the Craftwood Peak Venue
As the wedding couple and I headed back to the venue for the reception, we just had to stop along the way and capture some shots infront of the venue, by the storybook cottage (typically used for the groom to get ready in), and waterfall.
Dinner at Craftwood Peak
After that, the couple headed to the dining area for food and toasts. I loved the warm and intimate ambiance of the low wooden beams, colored mood lighting, chandeliers, stained glass windows and sparkling dinnerware. Everything was completed by having those near and dear to the couple partake in such a heartwarming moment. The catering service was provided by Craftwood Peak and I will say it was absolutely scrumptious! They definitely do a good job creating a delicious buffet style dinner, which is perfect because then guests can select which parts of the meal they want and how much.
Wedding Reception at Craftwood Peak
Next, the party began with the cutting of the two layered cake! This perfectly made dessert was crafted by a local wedding vendor in Colorado Springs called The Sugar Plum Cake Shoppe. The bride and groom were incredible at their first dance, given that the bride had danced in competitions! The crowd was really in for a whirling twirling show. The dancing continued into the night with the rest of the guests partaking to the fun beats provided by Greg with Celebrity DJ. He really brought the fun out and the whole wedding party had a blast!
Sparkler Send Off at Craftwood Peak by Wedgewood Weddings
Finally, the wedding couple walked through the sparkling lights and through the waving crowd at their send off. They decided to have the sparklers go off at the doorway and really relished the moment. Sparkler send offs are some of my favorite ways to end an incredible night because they’re so spectacular and make for exciting, sparkling photos!
