About
Sitting high in the foothills overlooking spectacular red rock formations and city lights of Denver, Willow Ridge Manor is an elegant and bright facility ideal for celebrating weddings.
Location
Willow Ridge Manor is located in Morrison, Colorado. Perfect for those who want to celebrate with Colorado mountain views while remaining in lower elevation and avoiding precarious mountain roads. Ideally located within 20 minutes of downtown Denver, there are a wide variety of options when it comes to finding nearby areas to stay for the night. Willow Ridge Manor is an easy drive from nearby areas such as Lakewood, Ken Caryl, Morrison, Edgewater, Golden, Highlands Ranch, Littleton and surrounding towns. It is located within a 45 minute drive from Denver International Airport, easily accessible to guests flying in from out of state.
History
Willow Ridge Manor was built as a family home in 1911 and was erected on a farm near Kipling and Bear Creek. A pre-existing structure was remodeled into a Colonial-style mansion by George Allen in 1915. The property was later obtained by Henry Teller, who was a United States Senator and Secretary. The home was also owned by Watt Redfield.
In 1980, the home was destined to be demolished, as the land was going to be re-developed. A group of people rescued the mansion and moved it to it’s current location in Morrison. It is now found new purpose as a wedding venue, surrounded by red rocks and the subtle slopes of the nearby foothills.
Key Features
What I found very unique to Willow Ridge Manor, outside of the incredible white architecture, are the incredible red rock formations, which I enjoyed utilizing in the group, family and couple shots. These impressive formations are located right next to the outdoor ceremony and reception area and don’t require much walking to get to them. These incredible organic rock structures which made for a stunning backdrop. The soft arches of the Colorado mountains in the distance added an extra layer of beauty to the landscape.
