Wedding Photography at The Oaks at Plumb Creek
As a Colorado wedding photographer, I have had the honor of shooting Chelsea and Jake’s wedding at The Oaks at Plumb Creek in Castle Rock, Colorado. This warm summer day was made complete by all that The Oaks had to offer. In this blog, you’ll get to learn a little bit about this gorgeous venue and see wedding photos from this memorable day.
The Bridal Suite
The Oaks at Plum Creek bridal suite is a standout feature that sets this Castle Rock wedding venue apart. Filled with natural light and stylish décor, it offers a serene space for brides to get ready, relax, and capture unforgettable “getting ready” photos before the big moment. The suite’s generous layout and spa-like feel make it perfect for hair, makeup, and candid moments with your wedding party. Amenities include in-suite restrooms, sound system, and plenty of room for bridesmaids, and even a door that opens up to the outside patio.
I especially like shooting the girls on the swing for some playful moments! There are lots of mirrors and some windows with natural light for those finishing touches.
Wedding Details
The gorgeous unique flowers were provided by Sweet Pea Designs, a local florist here in Colorado. Also, the bride’s dress was provided by Something New Boutique, a Colorado Springs dress shop.
The Groom’s Suite
The groom’s suite at The Oaks at Plum Creek in Castle Rock is the perfect place for grooms and their crew to relax and prepare before the big walk down the aisle. Spacious and thoughtfully designed, this suite features a full bathroom and plenty of room for the guys to hang out and get ready together. For a bit of fun before the ceremony, it even includes a state-of-the-art golf simulator and a big screen TV, which is ideal for golf lovers. It’s comfortable, stylish, and masculine.
I enjoyed the decor and lighting in the bathroom. I captured some shots of the groom getting his suit and tie on in there. The backdrop was very interesting and made a great spot for getting ready photos.
Ceremony at The Oaks at Plum Creek
The outdoor ceremony space at The Oaks at Plum Creek offers a breathtaking setting for couples who want to exchange vows surrounded by Colorado’s natural beauty. Situated along the lush fairways of Plum Creek Golf Course with sweeping views of the Castle Rock landscape, this a perfect ceremony location. It’s called “The Oaks” for a reason. There are leafy scrub oak trees, a native Colorado plant around the ceremony site. There is plenty of room for guests to sit comfortably and take in the scenery. Should weather shift, The Oaks also provides indoor alternatives so your moment is just as special and seamless.
Does The Oaks provide seating?
Yes! The Oaks at Plum Creek does provide seating for your ceremony, specifically, French Bistro chairs. They are included with your outdoor (or indoor) ceremony setup as part of the venue package. You won’t need to rent chairs separately for most weddings. The outdoor and indoor ceremony spaces can comfortably accommodate a wide range of guest counts (about 30 – 250 guests), so the provided chairs are set up to match your headcount.
While Chelsea and Jake had a summer wedding ceremony, this location would also look stunning in the fall! Scrub oak trees turn a beautiful range of yellow and orange in the cooler fall months.

Post-Wedding Ceremony
After the couple said, “I do”, we were able to get bridal party, family, and couples portrait shots below the alter adorned with beautiful flowers. The scrub oak trees made for a nice, lush green backdrop.
As a wedding photographer, I like to offer guidance for every step along the way. During the bridal party shots, I help direct members where to stand and how to pose properly in unison. I also can guide couples into different poses for their own portrait shots and help them feel comfortable in front of the camera.

Cocktail Hour at The Oaks at Plum Creek
After capturing all the necessary group shots, we headed back to the venue for cocktail hour. During this time, the couple got some candid shots of their friends and family gathering about. They signed the marriage license, drank champagne and enjoyed the overlook of the golf course and views of Castle Rock. The Reception area is very spacious and open, allowing for people to move about freely. Natural light floods in through the large windows and guests enjoyed ordering drinks at the bar. Overall, the venue has a very crisp, clean feel. The decor is stylish, and the layout is easy to work around.
Wedding Couples Shots
We really took advantage of the gorgeous view of Castle Rock Butte during couples photos. The golden hour is a perfect time to snag some shots of the couple. During this time, I let them get some fun candid moments together, and also give guidance on posing. The vibrant golf course was a picture-perfect spot for these shots to take place.
Wedding Reception
The venue layout at The Oaks at Plum Creek allows the day to transition seamlessly from cocktail hour to dining. The newly remodeled ballroom features vaulted ceilings, exposed oak beams, and walls of windows that flood the room with natural light and frame views of the golf course. It’s a chic, airy setting for dining and socializing after your ceremony.
We started out strong with the grand entrance. The cake was provided by Backyard Bakeries, a local Colorado wedding baker. Following toasts and cake cutting, the couple was able to sneak away for some sunset shots. The sky feels so expansive on top of the hill from The Oaks location.
The Oaks has in-house catering, which helps simplify the planning process for wedding couples looking to book there. As a vendor who also tried the food, I would say the catering team at The Oaks was excellent!
Dancing the Night Away
After dinner, guests can easily transition into the Art-Deco-inspired bar and lounge, where a full bar, retro lighting, and soft seating create a lively yet comfortable atmosphere for cocktails and dancing. This space often becomes the heart of the party, with DJs and music turning it into a fun dance floor that feels modern and vibey, perfect for celebrating late into the night.
I like to capture fun dance photos and play with lighting techniques, which embody the movement and colorful lights provided by the DJ: Exclusive Events. I really enjoyed the energy the DJ, Justin brought to this night. He helped everyone get out of their shell and get out and have fun!
It was great to step outside onto the wraparound outdoor deck and patio, where guests can mingle and enjoy the sparkling lights of Castle Rock’s landscape or relax around fire tables. The combination of indoor elegance and outdoor comfort makes The Oaks a versatile reception venue that’s both stylish and welcoming. It’s a space where dinner, drinks, dancing, and memories naturally come together.
Wedding Send-off at The Oaks
After dancing their hearts out, the couple and guests made their way out the front door to prepare for the bubble send off.
The Oaks at Plum Creek is an exceptional venue for a wedding sendoff, offering a natural flow that makes the moment feel cinematic and unforgettable. As the night winds down, guests can line up straight out the doors, creating a dramatic aisle that leads the couple into their grand exit. With the venue’s large windows glowing behind them, the modern architecture becomes part of the moment itself, framing the couple as they share a final kiss while bubbles float through the air. The clean lines, warm lighting, and contemporary style of The Oaks elevate the entire scene, making sendoff photos especially striking.
It was a joyful, high-energy way to gather everyone one last time and end the night on a celebratory, picture-perfect note that felt both intimate and iconic.
